We have moved into our house 2 weeks before Mika was born, 9 months ago to the day. It is old and small tiny with a vintage flair; it has good karma and lots of potential (this is the architect in me speaking).
The best part about this house is the yard. That is the real reason why we took the house. I haven’t started gardening yet, still trying to work magic on the interiors, but I have been fantasizing and sketching, planning the garden of my dreams. While doing that the garden have decided not to wait any longer and started getting ready for spring.
At first it looked like tall grass, then the dandelions appeared with a sprinkle of purple small random flowers here and there. The big green leaves that looked like elephant ears turned out to be Calais with tall and elegant white flowers. The roses are lavish, the citrus trees are in full bloom spreading a sweet fragrance of childhood. But the best are the poppies; a red carpet of poppies has transformed my yard into an impressionistic painting. Our neglect turned good fortune. I guess some times it is good to stand aside and watch things grow to their potential. If you let go you may just discover you have a field of poppies in your back yard.
