About a month ago, my ‘virtual’ friend Katrina Berg – a blogger and a gifted painter, offered me one of her paintings as a gift. “you can choose which ever you want” she said; I was the happiest.
A few weeks passed, and I got a notice for a package in the mail. It was Friday December 31st. Everything closed early that day, so I had no time to waste. I ran to the post office to pick up my painting.
I didn’t open it for a couple of hours…I waited patiently for my girls to come home to share the excitement with them (what are a couple of more hours after few weeks of anticipation).
We opened the box together; there was a lot of excitement, and bubble wrap popping sound filled the room. Ori kept on asking if the painting was real, and Zoe couldn’t believe that anyone could paint as well as Katrina. She was fascinated with the dimension of the paint and the brush strokes. What an inspiration.
This past year has been both wonderful and challenging; receiving the painting on the last day of the year was the best thing I could wish for.
Thank you Katrina for your kindness but more so for your talent and inspiration.
